Memento Mori explores the role of mortality, consciousness, fear, and the weight of history in an autobiographical personal narrative. Footage from the point of view of someone running away from something combined with bright colors, psychedelic effects, frightful faces, and glitch aesthetics to represent a spiritual, emotional and metaphysical experience of consciousness. Interspersed within this journey we find casual videos of the artist and his friends, as well as representations of crisis and conflict from film and animation and historical video. A complex original score and layered sound effects create a sense of urgency and anxiety throughout, immersing viewers in a dreamlike state where existential crisis meets politics.
